Internet, computer and wi-fi facilities

With a wide selection of computer labs where you can study as well as wi-fi zones, internet access is free and readily available for students on the Perth Campus. Free wi-fi is also available in a limited number of cafés, restaurants and public spaces around Perth.

On campus

Curtin University strives to provide a stimulating and technology-enriched environment to support your learning journey.

You will enjoy wireless network access across most of the Perth Campus, and you can study in our Abacus computer labs, which are equipped with hundreds of computers, printing stations, scanners, graphics workstations, smart boards and current software.

In the Abacus Tech lounge, you have open access to current technology, which is continually refreshed and upgraded as new models are released. You can play on new generation gaming consoles, mobile phones, ultrabooks and laptops, and a multi-function Surface 2 coffee table.

Inside Curtin’s expansive TL Robertson Library, you can experience the iZone, a bold, innovative space where you can collaborate with other students in a technology-rich environment that includes computers with large, adjustable monitors, touchscreens, Bluetooth and webcam capability, mobile whiteboards, smartboards and graphics workstations with drawing tablets.

At home

If you are living off campus, consider getting a broadband internet connection. It will make it easier for you to study and keep in touch with friends and family back home.

Internet service providers can offer 6, 12 or 24 month contracts, but you can also find month-to-month options. Many providers also offer mobile phone service and it’s often cost effective to get both services bundled together.
