Student visas

Student visas

International students renewing their student visa to continue their current course of study must obtain a new electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) from the International Student Visa Officer at Student Central.

For more information about visa renewal and to download the relevant forms, visit the Current Students website.

Visa medical check-up

Most new students will be required to undertake a medical check-up as part of the student visa application process. If applying for a student visa online, medicals are to be undertaken after the student visa application has commenced. Continuing students renewing their student visa may also be required to undertake a medical check-up if they have not had one within the last 12 months (as medical and x-ray results are only valid for 12 months). For more information on medical check-ups, please visit the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) website or telephone Health for Industry (formerly HSA) on 1300 361 046.

Working in Australia

Students who wish to work in Australia do not need a work visa. The student visa allows you to work up to 40 hours per fortnight during semester and unlimited hours during semester breaks.

For further information, visit the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website.

US/Canadian financial aid students

If you are a US or Canadian student who is applying for a loan through your home country, Curtin can assist with certifying the loan by confirming your enrolment and tuition details.  If you have any queries regarding this, please contact the Fees Centre on +61 8 9266 3500 or email financialaid@curtin.edu.au
