FAQs

What’s the difference between a scholarship and a fellowship?

Scholarships usually refer to grants that support long-term study and research, while fellowships go towards short-term study, research and professional development.

What can I study?

Study programs must relate to your country’s priority areas for development. These are listed on the participating country profiles.

What can't I study?

Australia Awards are not available for training in areas related to flying aircraft, nuclear technology or military training.

Can I apply for both an Australia Award and an Endeavour Award?

Yes, you may apply for other Awards. However, you may accept only one. For example, if you accept an Australia Award you cannot hold any other Australian government-sponsored scholarship (such as an Endeavour Award).
