English Support
Curtin offers a range of English support programs to help students improve their written or spoken English. These include free workshops, conversation classes and support groups, and UniEnglish, a website that provides advice and assistance on English language proficiency to Curtin students.

The Learning Centre
The Learning Centre (TLC) is situated on the first floor of the library. The Centre offers a wide variety of learning support programs designed to help and guide students at all stages of their studies.
Academic Gateway Program
The Academic Gateway Program is a 12-hour introduction to the academic study skills students need for success in their chosen discipline. Topics covered include:
- Cultural transition
- What lecturers expect from you
- Listening and note-making in lectures
- Participating with confidence in tutorials
- Managing your time
- Working in groups

Learning Support Programs
TLC provides the following free academic seminars throughout the year for undergraduate and postgraduate Curtin students:
- StudyPlus Program
- StudyPlus Postgraduate Program
- PowerPlus Writing Program
- PowerPlus Essay Program
- Second Language Support Program
- Pathfinder Program
All seminars are conducted by expert lecturers in a relaxed and supportive environment. Students who attend five seminars and are referred by their supervisor or unit coordinators will have access to individual assistance.
